Estimate single-stage gas-compressor power and outlet temperature from inlet conditions and pressure ratio.

Scope: Ideal-gas screening calculation with constant properties. Use absolute pressures and verify high-pressure, multistage or real-gas applications with appropriate software and vendor data.

What this calculator does

Calculates isentropic outlet temperature, corrects work for compressor efficiency and converts shaft power to electrical input using motor efficiency.

Gas mass flow through the compressor.
Absolute temperature is used internally.
Absolute, not gauge.
Must exceed inlet pressure.
Actual-to-ideal compressor efficiency.
Air is approximately 1.4 near ambient conditions.
Use the actual gas value.
