Screen a straight pipe section for pressure stress, bending stress and fully restrained thermal stress. It helps users understand which load controls before a formal piping flexibility analysis.

Background
For a thin-wall screening calculation, hoop stress is approximately PD/(2t) and longitudinal pressure stress is PD/(4t).
Nominal bending stress is M/Z, where Z is the elastic section modulus of the pipe cross-section. Fittings and branches can have higher local stress.
A fully restrained straight member has the elastic bound σ = EαΔT. Real piping is intentionally flexible, so displacement stress must be determined from the complete geometry and support arrangement.
